Ten Have Plant focuses on clean cultivation tables with the Greeny PRO from Terrazza MC

Ten Have Plant from Honselersdijk has been working with the Greeny PRO from Terrazza MC, manufacturer of cleaning machines for different types of surfaces, for about a year now. Where the company first used pressure washers, vacuum cleaners and hand brushes, they now save forty-five minutes per cleaning session, says Carolien ten Have of the Westland company.

Clean tables at Ten Have Plant

Ten Have Plant, specialised in Campanula, is traditionally a family business. Shortly after the First World War, the company was founded by Ten Have's great-grandfather. 'Then my grandfather and his twin brother took over,' Ten Have says. 'And now my father and my two uncles. And I am the next generation.'

Discovered at a trade fair

Ten Have explains that they had been looking for an effective cleaner for some time. At a trade fair about a year ago, they came across Terrazza MC and immediately got in touch about the Greeny PRO. Does it work well? 'Wonderful,' says Ten Have. 'Compared with all the other methods we tried, this works really well. The pressure washer actually blasted soil and debris onto the plants around it, so we had to build screens around the table that needed cleaning. Then we tried a brush, but it was far too heavy. The women couldn't use it, even though they do most of that work.' The company then tried using a vacuum cleaner and a brush, and finally water with a brush.

Major time savings

They use the Greeny PRO four times a week. Where staff first needed an hour per table, it now takes about fifteen minutes. The water used runs off the tables and is reused in the company's recirculation system. 'With the pressure washer we simply used much more water,' Ten Have explains. 'Now we apply a very thin layer that is just enough to loosen the dirt. Then we open the drain, the water runs off the table and the job is done.' Staff reactions are also positive, mainly because the machine is lighter to handle. 'Everyone can work with it, though one person uses two hands and another one. We also have the cleaning sponge, which we use from time to time to clean the canteen windows.'
According to Ten Have, the biggest improvement is that the cleaning quality is now consistent: 'The tables are clearly cleaner than with all the methods we tried before. That is what matters to us.'

Specifications

The Greeny PRO from Terrazza MC runs on a battery. According to Ten Have, one battery allows them to clean four or five tables, which they use daily. The cleaner is mainly intended for cultivation tables, but—just as in the Ten Have Plant canteen—it can also be used as a complete cleaning solution in greenhouses.
