Dabekausen has been an importer of McConnel in the Benelux for many years and supplies machinery for roadside and green management. By adding Major products, the company aims to respond to the demand for efficient solutions for maintaining hedges, shrubs and verges.
Experience in hedge maintenance
According to Dabekausen, the partnership builds on the knowledge the company has developed over recent years. In 2004, the company introduced its first hedge-cutting decks. Its experience with arm technology and its existing service network provide a strong foundation for expanding the product range.

Cutting instead of flail mowing
The Major MJ39 series uses a cutting system with double rotors and overlapping blades. According to the manufacturer, this allows hedges, shrubs and heavily overgrown verges to be cut and finished in a single pass. Unlike a traditional flail mower, the machines cut the vegetation instead of striking it. According to Major, this results in a cleaner finish and can reduce the number of passes, fuel consumption and working time.

Wide range of applications
The hedge trimmers can be mounted on both mowing arms and excavators and are suitable for various applications, from verge management to cutting back overgrown vegetation. The machines are built with Strenx structural steel and Hardox wear parts, which according to the manufacturer contribute to a long service life and limited maintenance costs. Director Jeroen Huijsmans of Dabekausen calls the partnership a logical step. 'With Major, we are adding an innovative and productive solution that matches the requirements of modern users.' Johannes Ballast, sales manager Europe at Major, also describes the cooperation as a good match. According to him, Dabekausen's technical knowledge and market position make the company a suitable partner for further expanding the hedge trimmers in Northwest Europe.
