Expansion into seventh country

idverde is taking another step in its European growth strategy with the acquisition of a majority stake in the Spanish company El Ejidillo Viveros Integrales. With this move, the green sector company enters the Spanish market for the first time. Spain becomes the seventh country in which idverde operates.

According to the company, the acquisition fits within its broader expansion strategy. Since 2018, idverde has acquired more than thirty companies across Europe. Spain is considered an attractive market, partly due to the growing demand for climate-resilient and sustainable green solutions in urban areas.

Expertise in dry and warm climates

El Ejidillo was founded in 1993 and is headquartered in Madrid. The company provides design, construction, maintenance and restoration of urban and natural landscapes for both public and private clients. It also operates two nurseries in Segovia and Granada. The Spanish company is known for its expertise in tree care, water management and climate adaptation. According to idverde, this expertise is valuable because green management in Spain often takes place under extreme heat and dry conditions. This has resulted in extensive experience with water-efficient and climate-resilient green solutions.

Partnership with local management

The acquisition is structured as a long-term partnership. The current owners of El Ejidillo will continue to manage the company, allowing idverde to retain existing knowledge and working methods. CEO Enrique Benito Miguel of El Ejidillo describes the collaboration as a logical next step: 'As part of Europe's leading specialist in green services, we can further strengthen our offering and exchange knowledge within the idverde network.' According to idverde CEO François Gilbart, the move aligns with the growing demand for climate-adaptive green management. 'By combining El Ejidillo's local expertise with our European network, we can accelerate innovation and scale up solutions for climate-resilient cities.' With this acquisition, idverde strengthens its position in Europe. The company now has more than 150 locations and serves over 12,000 clients in both the public and private sectors.
