Solid, durable and service-oriented: Intrak sees opportunities for a brand that has set the standard in France for decades
Intrak will bring the mechanical flail mowers and boom mowers of the French brand Noremat to the Netherlands from 2026. This is a deliberate choice, says managing director Jeroen van de Ven. He explains that these are not new machines, but a brand that has proven itself in France for forty years. 'The Dutch market is highly competitive. Then it comes down to quality, availability and service.'

Intrak presents Noremat as a brand for everyone working professionally in roadside and green space management: municipalities, green contractors, agricultural contractors, land managers and water authorities. Van de Ven: 'For all these parties, operational reliability is crucial, especially in seasons with high workload. With Noremat, Intrak expects to offer an additional option in the higher segment, focused on solidity and long service life.'
French family business with a technical foundation
Noremat is a family business that has been developing and building machines for mowing, pruning, roadside management and biomass processing since 1981. The manufacturer serves local authorities and contractors throughout France. With more than 250 employees and a factory in Ludres, near Nancy, the company combines design, production and service at one location. 'Noremat works almost exclusively with French suppliers and deliberately keeps the supply chain short,' says Van de Ven. 'That ensures predictable parts availability and stable deliveries - factors that are also directly noticeable in day-to-day operations for Dutch managers and contractors.'

Developed from daily use
Noremat is known for boom mowers, flail mowers and pruning solutions that can be used year-round along roads, embankments and waterways. Development takes place close to daily practice. The manufacturer has been collecting user experience for years through field visits. This feedback leads to improvements in ease of maintenance, visibility and ergonomics. Technological choices, such as more wear-resistant components and low-maintenance blades, also result from this direct contact with operators.
An important factor for Intrak is that Noremat has been developing a complete programme for roadside management since the 1980s. To complete this range, the company imported flail mowers of Dutch manufacture for many years. That experience formed the basis for its own line of front and rear flail mowers, which Noremat presented this summer at Demopark Eisenach. These are further developments of machines the company has sold since the 1980s. The new models combine a sharp price-quality ratio with a high level of finish and robust construction. Notable is the new Forsactiv flail system, which delivers more impact and allows mowing at lower engine speeds. This results in fuel savings. At the same time, ecological management was considered in the development: all mowers can be equipped with a lifting kit, enabling a mowing height of up to 15 centimetres. These features align with the growing demand for sustainable mowing management in the Netherlands.

For Dutch green professionals, this means an additional option in the segment: machines for intensive use, with attention to safety, service and long service life

Innovation focused on safety and sustainability
Each year, Noremat invests a fixed share of its turnover in technical research and development. The company develops machines that operate more stably, require less energy and contribute to traffic safety. Sustainability also plays an increasingly important role. Noremat supports initiatives for ecological mowing management and works on solutions for managing invasive species, such as ragweed and Japanese knotweed. The manufacturer also has experience in processing roadside grass into compost or biogas, which in France leads to lower maintenance costs and improved water quality. This knowledge may be valuable for Dutch organisations in the further professionalisation of circular management.

Service and knowledge as an integral part
Noremat sees service as part of the product. In most cases, parts are shipped on the day of ordering. Technicians, both in the field and in the workshop, are trained internally. At the factory's training centre, operators and mechanics receive practical instruction. The company also invests heavily in internal training and career development. According to Van de Ven, this structure ensures knowledge retention, which helps to maintain service quality as the brand is rolled out in the Netherlands.

'It fits within the broader move towards sustainable and circular management that more and more clients are actively pursuing'

Overhaul extends service life
Noremat has set up a dedicated division under the name Maneko for overhauling and reconditioning machines and rotors. By renewing or rebuilding components, equipment is given a second life. 'For Dutch users, this can be attractive, as overhauls lead to lower costs and reduced material use,' says Van de Ven. 'It fits within the broader move towards sustainable and circular management that more and more clients are actively pursuing.'
What does this mean for Dutch green professionals?
Van de Ven expects Noremat to be particularly interesting for organisations that need reliable, low-maintenance machines. The brand does not focus on technological novelties, but on solidity and practice-oriented design. Van de Ven concludes: 'We are not introducing a new machine category, but a brand that already works elsewhere. It has proven itself in practice. For Dutch municipalities, contractors, agricultural contractors and land managers, this means an additional choice in the professional segment: machines built for intensive use, with attention to safety, service and long service life.'
