Per 1 juli heeft gemeente Hoogeveen het beheer en onderhoud van sportpark De Meulewieke overgedragen aan voetbalvereniging Noordscheschut, de enige van de sportclubs die vrijwillig met een plan over de brug kwam om te verzelfstandigen.
