For landscapers, the right plant in the right place is a standard part of design and installation. Wrong choices often lead to plant failure or extra maintenance. On 15 April, Which Plant Where - The ultimate plant encyclopedia will be published, an international edition by the Royal Horticultural Society that is appearing in Dutch translation for the first time. This reference work brings together plant information by site conditions and application and helps with making well-founded planting plans.

The publication contains information on more than 3,000 plants, organised by around 70 garden situations. Think of sun or shade, dry or wet conditions, and applications such as balcony planting or insect-friendly gardens. The setup is aimed at quick searching by situation. This creates a clear overview of species that fit specific conditions. That can speed up the design process and helps support plant choices when discussing them with clients.

Contributing to biodiversity

Current themes are also covered. There is attention for species that cope better with drought and changing rainfall, and for plants that contribute to biodiversity. The book also discusses naturalistic planting. With this structure, the book is mainly intended as a practical tool for design and advice. The publication has 402 pages and is published by HL Books.
