Belrobotics presents in a new video how Wisecut works, the technology that automatically adjusts mowing height and mowing style to the different zones of a golf course. The function is part of the software update for the manufacturer's GPS-RTK robotic mowers.

The video shows how the robot switches between, for example, fairways, semi-roughs and roughs without manual intervention, with both the mowing height and mowing pattern automatically matched to the intended use of each part of the course. According to Belrobotics, Wisecut was developed to achieve an optimal mowing result on every part of the course, ranging from pattern mowing on fairways to spiral mowing in semi-roughs and rougher zones. The technology is designed to respect the course architecture, cover surfaces more quickly and limit finishing work because the robot does not return over areas that have already been mown.

The video offers a first look at the practical application of the technology and shows how the robot automatically adapts to the user's preset criteria. For greenkeepers exploring automation or precision mowing, the demonstration provides a relevant introduction. Trade magazine Greenkeeper will look in more detail at Wisecut and the underlying GPS-RTK technology later this year in an in-depth background article.
