Green as guiding principle in the outdoor space of new DPG headquarters
The new headquarters of DPG Media in Amsterdam, Mediavaert, immediately stands out because of the large amount of greenery in and around the building. TeBi Infra contributed to the design of the outdoor space, in which green plays a central role. The company deliberately chose a combination of paving materials and planting. This keeps the site functional and better able to cope with heat and heavy rainfall. The materials used are durable and wear-resistant.

The design aligns with the ambition to make the building nature-inclusive. Green elements continue along the façades, across the roofs and into the interior. With this approach, all green zones connect and together form a single coherent whole.
Green roofs and terraces
At various elevated locations, Mediavaert features green roofs and terraces with planting containers. This greenery forms an additional layer above ground level. According to TeBi Infra, these elements were included in the design from the outset. "The terraces are not separate additions, but part of the overall green concept. The planting containers provide variation in planting and contribute to the green appearance of the terraces."

Green walkway around the building
A continuous green walkway with planting and trees is being created around Mediavaert. This walkway connects ground level with the roof terraces, allowing the greenery to visibly continue along the building. TeBi Infra sees the walkway as an important element of the design. "The green strip strengthens the connection between the building and its surroundings. The walkway forms a recognisable edge around the headquarters."
Green into the building
Extensive planting is also included in the interior of Mediavaert. Large trees and various plant species are placed in the indoor spaces. In this way, the green network continues into the building. According to TeBi Infra, this was a deliberate choice: "The greenery does not stop at the façade, but continues inside. With this layout, the interior connects to the green image outside."

In line with broader developments
The approach at Mediavaert fits within developments that are more broadly visible in the sector. Increasingly, greenery is being used as a fixed component of buildings, both outside and inside. This is done, among other things, to better cope with extreme weather conditions and to improve liveability in urban areas.
