After five years of absence, Trimax makes a notable return to BTME this year. The manufacturer presents the Snake S3: the latest generation of trailed rotary mower for golf courses and sports fields. The machine has been developed with one clear goal in mind: combining higher mowing quality with reduced maintenance and lower operating costs.

The Snake S3 builds on the performance of the Snake S2, but introduces a series of practical improvements mainly aimed at reducing downtime. A key feature is the fully maintenance-free design. Thanks to the Trimax Titan roller system — a sealed double-bearing housing with a three-year warranty — daily greasing is no longer required. Automotive-style wheel hubs and non-greasable bushes on the outrigger arms also contribute to a significant reduction in the number of grease points. For managers, this mainly means time savings: more hours mowing and less time in the workshop.

Separate segments

Trimax has also focused on durability and easier repairs. The rear flap is now built from separate segments, meaning that in the event of damage only part needs to be replaced. Separating the blade bar and spindle is also intended to limit repair costs when an obstacle is hit. The aluminium belt covers have been reinforced and are walkable, improving access to maintenance points and increasing safety.

Floating cutting decks

Despite the focus on reduced maintenance, mowing performance remains at the heart of the Snake S3. The three floating cutting decks independently follow the ground contours, minimising scalping on undulating fairways, slopes and rough areas. The articulation works in combination with the Multi-Lift System, allowing the operator to lift individual decks to avoid obstacles or reduce the working width. This offers extra flexibility, particularly on tree-rich courses or narrow passages, without compromising the end result.

With the Snake S3, Trimax is clearly targeting greenkeepers and field managers who want to use their maintenance hours more efficiently. The combination of reduced maintenance, lower operating costs and a high-quality finish makes the machine an interesting option for sports and golf facilities looking to modernise their maintenance operations.
