EuroGarden scrutinises line selection: what works best with battery-powered trimmers?

For landscapers, green space professionals and other users of trimmers or brushcutters, choosing the right trimmer line is essential. EuroGarden is therefore launching a clear assortment under the Ozaki brand, tailored to different types of work, machines and users.

The range includes lines for light trimmers up to professional use in tough conditions. An important factor in the selection is the nature of the job. For light trimming in soft grass, a thin round line is sufficient. For taller grass or denser vegetation, a line with sharper edges - such as square or hexagonal - is more suitable. For shrubs and brushwood, Ozaki recommends reinforced, break-resistant lines.

Electric trimmers require thinner lines that won't overload the motor

type of machine determines the line

The type of machine also plays a key role. Electric trimmers require thinner lines that won't overload the motor. For battery-powered tools, low-noise, efficient nylon lines are recommended. Petrol machines, ranging from light to very powerful, require a line suited to their intended use. A line that's too thick for a light machine can slow down the motor or even cause damage. This is especially true for two-stroke engines, which only lubricate properly at high RPMs. Insufficient RPM can lead to overheating or engine damage.

line thickness

Ozaki's line thickness ranges from 1.35 mm to 4.5 mm. A thicker line is not necessarily better: if the line is too heavy, there's a risk of overloading. On the other hand, a line that's too thin on a powerful machine will wear out faster and cut less efficiently.

packaging

Ozaki offers different packaging options based on frequency of use: from ready-to-use cassettes and blisters for occasional use to spools and bulk packaging for daily professional use.

material choice

The lines are made from homogeneous new plastic, sometimes enhanced with copolymers or co-extruded layers. Certain models feature aluminium reinforcement, contributing to longer lifespan and better performance under tough conditions.
