On July 14, three family-owned companies from Brabant introduced themselves under a shared name: Triander. These are Ploegmakers, Jos Kanters Groenvoorziening, and Lux Cernit Groenprojecten. By joining forces, the companies aim to increase their effectiveness and play a stronger role in creating sustainable living environments for the future.
Triander emerged from the need to deploy knowledge, personnel, and equipment more efficiently. By working under one banner, the partners aim to better align their services with the growing demand for integrated and sustainable green solutions.

greening, inclusion, and quality of life
Although the three companies retain their individual identities, shared values are central: decisiveness, local engagement, and trust. Triander focuses on collaboration with municipalities, residents, and other stakeholders. The goal is to realize projects that not only enhance greenery but also promote inclusion and improve quality of life. Paul Kanters, director at Jos Kanters Groenvoorziening, explains: "Many clients struggle with themes like biodiversity and heat stress, but also with social issues. Increasingly, they ask us to participate as a partnership to help think things through. Take a traditional performance contract, for instance. If a hedge is in full bloom but ten centimeters too wide, it still needs to be trimmed — otherwise, there's a penalty. The same applies to mowing contracts. Grass must be cut at a certain height, but if it's very dry, it may burn. If it's too wet, mowing can leave tracks. Sticking to specs and aiming only for a final appearance is hard to justify to citizens — especially when those citizens are constantly reminded of the importance of green spaces."

action speaks louder
When this happens too often, public trust in the municipality is eroded. After all, they say one thing but do another. And during election campaigns, those same citizens are also voters. Kanters: "No matter how compelling the story or how much biodiversity is promoted, if actions don't match the message, the story falls apart. We try to raise awareness among clients that greater collaboration is needed to make real impact on green spaces and on citizens. It's a win-win for both municipalities and green managers."
In the coming period, Triander will share practical experiences and projects through its own channels. The partners aim to provide insight into their approach and demonstrate how collaboration works in practice. More information is available via Triander's online channels.
