Robotics and automation are the leading themes at Demopark Eisenach
Every two years, the garden and park trade fair Demopark is held in Eisenach, eastern Germany. This year featured relatively few Dutch exhibitors. Still a fixed feature in Eisenach: the extreme (far too hot) weather and the massive influx of visitors. In total, around 30,000 people walked the expansive trade show grounds over three days.
 | Vogt Terrafit |
Vogt presents Terra Fit
The German company Vogt presented the Terra Fit series: machines capable of injecting granulate into the soil under high pressure to deliver trees additional air and nutrients. Also notable was a pneumatic spade that allows you to dig trial trenches with both power and precision. In the Netherlands, Terra Fit is represented by the company Terra Fit, owned by Ivo de Groot.
 | Makita Water Pump |

Company acquisition and new machines at Wiedenmann
Wiedenmann was acquired last year by private equity. According to the stand crew, this has brought new energy to the company — and sharper decisions. For example, there is a 'new' verticutter, essentially based on IP from Dutch firm Trilo. Truly new is the TerraCore aerator (1.5 m wide) for hollow coring up to 10 cm. Also new: the AirDos, a combination of scarifier and seeder. The idea behind the AirDos: first remove thatch and loose grass with the scarifier, then run the machine again to apply seed.
 | New battery cut-off saws |
Cut-off saws 350 mm
Stihl presented two battery-powered cut-off saws: the TSA 300 (300 mm) and TSA 500 (350 mm). Handy for landscapers who deal with heavier cutting jobs. The TSA 500 uses two batteries, the TSA 300 one. This is relevant, as landscapers are increasingly tasked with cutting thick paving. Also on display: a telescopic pole for the GTA 26 and HSA 26 — practical. Not fully professional tools, but still useful to have in the van. And reasonably priced. For users of the popular GTA 40 mini chainsaw: unfortunately, no telescopic pole yet — but one is reportedly in development.
 | Tying machine from the wine sector |
Pellenc
Pellenc showcased its familiar range of multitools, brushcutters and chainsaws. New: a tying machine developed for vineyards, capable of applying floral wire (plastic-coated or paper-based) with or without tension. Paper versions decompose within six months. This system might also be useful for tree nurseries. The challenge: traditional wire does not stretch with plant growth. The benefit of this machine: it can tie tightly, or leave room for growth.

Kersten Machines
It's a growing trend — converting fossil-powered tools to battery-powered alternatives, and Chinese battery brand EGO is gaining traction. Kersten Machines now builds three machines based on the EGO battery system: a weed brush, a sweeper and a seeder. Solidly built and ideal for those already using EGO batteries.
 | Updated petrol chainsaws |
Husqvarna
Husqvarna presented a new petrol-powered backpack blower for the professional market: the Husqvarna 590BTS. They claim it is the most powerful in the world, delivering 2100 m³/h airflow. The company focused less on battery tools this year and more on improved petrol chainsaws. The new 445, 450X and especially the 564XP feature better components and improved cooling, designed for professional forestry use. A new battery chainsaw — the 550i XP — was also introduced. It supports 13"-20" bars and is compatible with the B540X and B330X batteries. The saw delivers 3.0 kW+ of power, comparable to 50cc petrol models.
