In 2023, important sustainability themes were already added, such as climate, biodiversity, circularity, and social return. This brought Groenkeur in line with the Dutch government's manifesto on socially responsible commissioning and procurement.

Sustainability already embedded, now focus on professional development

The upcoming revision will mainly focus on the impact of technological innovations, new forms of tendering, and changing demands regarding staff and professional competence. Groenkeur aims to future-proof the assessment guidelines and align them more closely with real-world practices.

Three working groups to start in September

For the revision, three separate working groups will be set up: one for landscaping, one for tree care, and one for green roofs and façades. These working groups are scheduled to start in September. The aim is to finalize the revised guidelines by 1 May 2026.
After approval by the Dutch Accreditation Council, the new standards will take effect on 1 January 2027. A transition period will be provided to allow stakeholders to prepare for the changes.

Interested in contributing? Groenkeur seeks professionals

Groenkeur invites entrepreneurs and specialists to contribute to one of the working groups. Interested parties can apply by sending an email to Groenkeur.
