At the UK-based Four Oaks trade fair, the new ecoExpert packaging won the Sustainability Impact Award. The smart cardboard packaging by Modiform protects plants ordered online while in transit to consumers at home. The plant box scored in the 'Sustainable Impact' category because it is made from recycled cardboard, features thoughtful design details, and replaces plastic packaging.

The ecoExpert range includes biodegradable products made from recycled cardboard, and the online packaging products are specifically designed to ensure safe and sustainable plant delivery. Retailers can use these solutions to meet the growing consumer demand for eco-friendly home-delivered plants. The online packaging range includes clampacks and in-box trays.

The clampack grips around the pot and has an opening at the top through which the plant can protrude. It can also be secured in a matching box. The in-box trays allow plants to be placed horizontally and accommodate pots of various sizes. Thanks to clever notches in the shipping box, multiple trays can be stacked. The ecoExpert line aligns with Modiform's commitment to leading the horticultural sector towards more sustainable solutions through innovation, and its aim to close the materials loop.
Four Oaks is an international horticultural trade fair held in Cheshire, in the northwest of England, with over three hundred exhibitors. The fair takes place annually in September.
