The Dutch branch of artificial turf processor Re-Match in Tiel has gone bankrupt.

The company's bankruptcy was declared on February 4 by the court in Zutphen. It remains unclear what impact this will have on the Tiel factory and its employees.

In 2021, Re-Match began constructing its Dutch factory for recycling artificial turf mats at the industrial area on Panovenweg in Tiel. Two years later, the factory was officially opened.

For the realization of this facility, Re-Match received a subsidy of nearly 4.5 million euros from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, as previously reported by the company. Re-Match itself invested 8.5 million euros in the factory, which was expected to provide approximately forty full-time jobs.
